THE BRIEF

I am doing the video brief:

Main task: the titles and opening of a new fiction film, to last a maximum of two minutes.

All video and audio material must be original, produced by the candidate(s), with the exception of music or audio effects from a copyright-free source.

PLANNING: PRELIMINARY EXERCISE

Continuity task: filming and editing a character opening a door, crossing a room, sitting down in a chair opposite another character with whom she/he exchanges a couple of lines of dialogue. This task should demonstrate match on action, shot/reverse shot and the 180% rule.

Preliminary Exercise
In the last couple of lessons I and 3 other people Matt, Josie and Callum Gethin-Barkway created a short film in order to learn the basics of filming and editing. When filming we used the technique shot reverse shot as it was an essential part to the Preliminary exercise.
The plot was a man trying to smuggle fruit into Australia but the Australian security guard was not allowing it. We edited the film on Imovie, we tried adding a variety of different sound effects such as footsteps but unfortunately it did not fit.

We imported the footage from the memory card into iMovie and then placed them into the movie and trimmed each clipping order to remove any unwanted footage. I removed all background noise as we didn't need any of the background noise as it was just people muttering. I was the camera man and was the main editor in this exercise as everybody in my group didn't have any experience with filming and editing however I did, So I had to help them work out the basics and learn how to use a camera and iMovie.

Creating a Trello Acount

Today I decided to create a Trello account. I did this in order to make sure I know what work is due and
when to complete it for. This is effective as it allows me to not forget any work, so that I complete everything in time. It also helps me organise my work as it tells me what work has to be completed. There are two sections with Trello which is the 'To do' and 'Done' sections, When i have work to complete I place it in the 'To Do' list but once I have completed it I move it to the 'Done' section. You can also design your Trello in order to make it more interesting, you can change the background colour and you can also use colours on the labels if you decide to colour code your work into different categories. You can also pay for additional feature these are called Trello Gold and Business Class, this allows you to add photos and add patterns and textures. I feel as though this is going to be a very useful feature for me as it keeps me extremely organised.
